Love, Lists, and Fancy Ships by Sarah Grunder Ruiz
Thank you to @berkleyromance and @this_is_edelweiss for the ARC of this book!
Jo is trying to complete a 30 by 30 list before her August birthday, while also grieving the loss of her nephew and babysitting her nieces. Not to mention, trying to resist her new neighbor/co-worker, Hot Yacht Chef, Alex.
This book was a slow read for me. Usually I blast through a book, but this one took me a while, probably because though it’s classified as a romance, I’d classify it more as women’s fiction. Jo’s character arc is figuring out how to deal with her and her niece’s grief, with the romance between her and Alex only being about 40% of the book.
LOW STEAM WARNING. This book ONLY contains kissing/making out. It’s also a slow burn.
CONTENT WARNING: grief over the death of a child family member and death of a father.
So if you love a lot of story, character, sassy friends with not a lot of steam - pick this one up. -Ford
