The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory

This was as fun as The Proposal and The Wedding Date.

The characters stick in my brain and the subject matter is so light and fluffy that it is a delight to read.

The sex scenes are mostly Fade-To-Black, except for one, which is a bit more explicit. This part doesn't really make sense to me. Is there a rating system for romance books that I am unaware of? One lengthy description is ok, but several will get you books pulled from certain libraries?

This kind of inconsistency pulls me out of the world and to be honest, I come to romance for the steamy sex scenes and considering that this is a sexual-chemistry-is-FIRE to we-might-have-feelings-for-each-other type of story, it was a little disappointing to skim over all the sex.

I liked that there is a significant (several years) passage of time. So frequently it's one month of dating, a lifetime of love. This felt more realistic.

I also really enjoyed that she was the one interested in a no strings attached relationship, while he was falling. Eventually, she develops feelings as well, but women are usually shamed for sexually healthy behaviors and it was refreshing to see a woman without that stigma.

I will read the next one in this series, these characters have grown on me and since they are fast and easy reads, I feel like I am getting most of what I am looking for.

Just gimme more steam!! - Sky
