Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

As always Talia Hibbert knocks it out of the park for me.

With every Brown Sisters book, I have loved the next one more than the one before and this one is no exception. It has taken the number one spot in my favorites, taking down Dani Brown.

Ever since we met Eve in the first book I knew I wanted to know her story. She and Jacob, completely blew me out of the water.

Between the very articulate conversations about neurodivergence, diagnosis, and ableism, there is laugh-out-loud humor, snark, and sizzle. (So much sizzle), and a fair amount of hot, hot sex.

I love an honest protagonist with funny, self-berating, inner dialogue and both Eve and Jacob have that in spades. Tall blondes are not my type, but this crisp, buttoned-up grump-cloud, warmed his way into my wants. He is so hot. (The detail about him needing to be touched firmly made so much sense.)

Eve is equally lovely, she has her uncertainties, but they are not about how she looks or who she is inside and out. This is a rarity, a self-assured woman, who does not cower from her loudness and brightness and loveliness for this world. Eve reminded me to wear my brightest lipstick and my loudest t-shirt and ignore anyone who doesn't love my sunshine (when I have it) as much as I do.

I put this book down yesterday and I want to re-read it already. I want to go back to this BnB and read their hilarious barbs and honest conversation and scare fucking ducks. (Jacob is right, they are the worst!).

Do not miss this book, it's everything that is good in the world and more. -Sky

HARD AGREE WITH SKY, HERE.

Every Brown Sister book also gets COZIER. I’m less stressed reading each and every one. HOWEVER, starting with Dani and continuing with Eve, I’m nervous these incredible women will fail. <SPOILER> They don’t. It’s so great. I love being nervous but also wrapped in a blanket of certainty that Talia won’t do that to me.

This was also the first book I listened partly to the audiobook and it really helped settle the British accents for me. RECOMMEND!

PS Ducks are nothing, just delicious all dark meat, it’s geese that are fuckers. -Ford
