The Devil Wears Black by L.J. Shen

I don’t have anything particularly juicy to discuss about this book. It’s a straight up billionaire grump/working sunshine story. The great thing about it is that it’s a SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE. I swear there are not enough of these in the world. It’s one of my favorite tropes.

Maddie is a wedding dress designer still nursing her breakup with the “devil in disguise” billionaire Chase Black. Chase shows up on Maddie’s doorstep (literally), to ask her to pretend to be his fiancée while his father slowly dies of cancer. Maddie agrees because she lost her mom to cancer as a teen and knows what his family is going though. Even though Chase says he doesn’t want a real relationship, he keeps pulling Maddie into his orbit.

The sex scenes are few (first one is much after the halfway point) and there is only one really explicit one. But if sexy, broken billionaires are your thing, this is a solid read.

Side Note: that dog needed a more dominant alpha.
