Barbarian’s Hope by Ruby Dixon (Ice Planet Barbarians #11)
So here’s another one that I read so long ago I barely remember it, so this will be a “Residue Review,” i.e. what the book left behind in my memory, like the grease on your fingers after eating another potato chip.
With all the OG girls happily mated, I was wondering where this series was going to go for its next 10 books. The answer: to the barbarian females.
This book is about bitchy Asha and her mate Hemalo. They have been separated for a while after the death of their baby. Through this book, we learn why Asha is such a bitch but we also learn that she cannot help it and that’s just so annoying. Yes, I give her miles of leeway because she is grieving but it made it very difficult for me to like her.
Once again, it was another book with a lot of emotional growth that needed to be done before the smut could begin and that’s not what I’ve come for. This book, in fact, might be my least favorite book in the series.
But keep reading, because I really liked book 12! -Ford
