Barbarian’s Heart by Ruby Dixon (Ice Planet Barbarians #10)

Look, I gotta be honest here. I read this book a while back and was so absorbed in starting the next one and my crazy work schedule, I’m just now getting around to a review. So I don’t remember much, but what I do remember is a unique twist on a second chance romance.

Stacy and Pashov mated right out of the gate in book 1, basically. They’ve been together ever since, in the background of other books. When, in book nine, the caves the tribe lives in are destroyed in an earthquake, Pashov is nearly killed and wakes up with amnesia, not remembering Stacy or their son. They both have to fight through mental turmoil to get each other back.

I really liked this book and thought the cave-in was a clever way to weave in the last OG girl and have an interesting story. The one downfall is that this story has so much internal work to do with the characters, I don’t remember it being as steamy as the others. The steam happens much later than in most of the other books.
