Good Enough to Eat by Alison Grey & Jae

I was excited to read this book for two reasons:

  1. I have read nearly no lesbian romances. Perhaps, because I’m hetero, romances involving men draw me in easier, but hell! I’m a lady! I know what love feels like and it doesn’t need to be directed at a male type to be interesting. So I guess, I wanted to read this (and more lesbian romances) for personal growth.

  2. I saw Jae speak on a panel for the 2020 Frankfurt book fair and I liked them a lot.

This book was a bit difficult in a way that is hard to pin-point. My best guess was the voice was a bit dry. Perhaps because both authors are German, the tone was different than I was expecting. But all the other bits of this book were fun! A vampire who goes to AA to stop drinking humans is a fun idea! That said vampire is also a paranormal romance writer! How meta! (Do I think one of the writers of this book is a vampire? Yes. It’s the perfect inception!)

I do also keep calling this book, Bite Me, which is one of the vampire characters book titles and an excellent Christopher Moore book.
