Guarding Temptation by Talia Hibbert

This novella is a delight. It starts right after her orgasm, so it had me hooked from the first beat.

The setup is simple, in the aftermath of a hook-up they have both been craving for years, James and Nina misinterpret the cues and both believe the other is not interested.

Except they keep ending up getting off together while denying their feelings.

I really enjoyed his willingness to put his emotions out there first, when he was finally ready to say the words. I liked the power dynamic between them and how they handed power off to each other.

I liked how cozy they were together.

This novella ties to The Roommate Risk (which is a full-length novel that you should read next), so Rahul and Jasmine make an appearance. Which was a delightful bonus to this story.

The novella flies by fast and is a perfect stress-reliever. I recommend it to anyone looking to seriously blow off some steam. (If you have a partner, warn them, of what you are about to read). It is really steamy with explicit sexual scenes, for which I love Talia Hibbert. - Sky

Totally agree with Sky here. Talia Hibbert is a master at her craft. This story was so short I was panting for more, but it was densely packed with sex, plot, and feelings. The pace was perfection.

Nina is being doxxed for delivering THE NEWS that some people got butt hurt. You know those types, the ones that get butt-hurt over the truth. So she goes to stay with her friend and human wall with kickboxing experience, James. The same friend and human wall who she’s been pining over (and who, coincidentally, has been pining over her).

I love a story where the characters get off without touching. That is so completely hot for me and this book has it! It’s so yummy.

I would recommend this one if you’ve only got a few hours to spare or just want a taste of what Talia Hibbert is all about. -Ford
