They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

CW: Death, bombings, & drowning.

This book has become a YA classic. One of the must-read books. And I cannot disagree. What an incredible story about two young men on their last day alive, who find each other and lose each other, by fate.

To be very honest, this book also gave me a mild panic attack when one of the characters described how his family drowned in a car accident. Drowning is one of my fears and so I had to put the book down and come back to it. That’s some great writing right there.

I thought this book would make me cry, but their deaths at the end weren’t the point. The story very clearly outlines that it’s about the journey; to live every day.

It’s beautifully written and wonderfully paced. I would recommend this story to anyone who wants to read off the beaten YA track. -Ford
